The European Jewish Press is reporting that last month, the Transatlantic Institute, a Brussels-based think-tank fostering ties among the EU, Israel and the US, sent copies of “The Plot: The Secret Story of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion” written by American Will Eisner in a comic-book form, to the 785 members of the European Parliament and their staff [...] the EU body is not going to distribute the package “due to the nature of its content”.

“We’re just happy to know The Spirit is being well received and that people are entertained by it,” Cooke said. “I guess (these awards are) an indication that we’re doing all right.”

The Canadian creator won Outstanding Artist and Outstanding Cartoonist for The Spirit as well as Outstanding Writer for Superman Confidential.

The Spirit gets Harvey nominated!

This year's Harvey Award nominations have been released and two Spirit projects have made the list. Darwyn Cooke's new The Spirit series has been nominated for Best New Series and Best Continued or Limited Series and Jamison Services has been nominated for Best Colorist for Will Eisner's The Spirit Archives, Vol. 19 (all published by DC Comics).
